A MIDHIRST SENSATION.
OLD SETTLER FOUND DEAO (From Our Stratford Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. Midhirst was full of excitement yesterday, when it became known that Mr. Frank Uklenbcrg, a very old settler of the district, had been found, by Mri Klecman, manager of the Midhirst Dairjr Company, dead in a ditch near the Manganui River. Deceased had been missing since last Thursday. The police were at once informed and the body was removed to the morgue. This afternoon, before Mr. S. Ward, actingcoroner, tiie inquest was opqied. John Michael Uhlenberg, son of deceased, identified the body as that of his father, who was 05 years of age, a German by birth but a naturalised Britisher. Sergeant Dale informed the jury that Dr», Stevens and Paget were holding a post mortem and he asked for an adjournment until next Tuesday, which was .granted. All sorts of rumors are in the aii,, but until after the adjourned inquest, it will be impossible to say whether they have any foundation.
