ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
KNOCKED DOWN ON THE RAILWAY, Br Telegraph.— Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A serious accident occurred at Laprbton station railway yard this afternoon, a cadet named Gilbert Parkinson being knocked down and run over by an engine. Parkinson, who is in his sixteenth year, seems to have been crossing the yard where shunting operations were in progress. He sustained severe injuries to both legs. Medical attendance was secured promptly, and the lad was removed to the hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the left leg from the thigh, and also the right loot.
