A violent explosion followed, and there were over four hundred victims. Many women and children, in the neighborhood, thinking that there w»8 an air raid, rushed into the street, and this curiosity led to many fatalities as the shells in .the factory continued to explode. One damaged a number. of houses, killing several people.
