FIRE IN MELBOURNE.
GREAT BLAZE IN THE CITY. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, December 28. One of the greatest blazes in the history of Melbourne broke out yesterday afternoon, when a three-storeyed building occupied by Andrew, Jack, Dyson and Company, 'wholesale stationers, in Collins street, near King street, waa completely burnt out. The flames had secured a good hold when the brigades iirrived and spread rapidly to the neighboring Aberdeen Buildings, the top storey of which was burnt out. The brigade finally obtained control. Soldiers assisted the brigades by keeping back the crowd. The insurances are not yet known.
