FRENCH STEAMER SUNK. TORPEDOED WITHOUT WARNING. Paris, Dec. 27. A submarine torpedoed and sank the French steamer Ville de la Ciotat on Friday in the Mediterranean without waning. Many of the passengers were drowned. ; THE YASAKA MARU CASE. Washington, Dec. 27. . rhe State Department regards the (inking of the Yasaka Maru as gravely compromising the Ancona case. Received Dec. 28, 8.50 p.m. f' Paris, Dec. 28. The Ville-de-la Cotat was returning from the Far East when she was torpedoed in the Eastern Mediterranean, without warning. The steamer Merol landed the survivors.
