To the Editor, * Sir,—Please allow me, on behalf of myself and many others who benefit by the good offices of that Mercury of the Junction and Mountain roads who, literally on the wings of the morning, brings us the tidings of the outside world, as told in the columns of the Daily News, to express through those columns our appreciation of his attentiveness and punctuality, and to assure him Wiat he has our sincere good wishes for Christmas, and sturdy hope that in the coming year he may have occasion to declare his advent i-nh really good war news by many a cheery toot of his rousing hooter.—l ajn, etc., TAHI HERENI.
