ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
WOMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. A middle-aged woman, Mrs. E. C. Ronaldson, was found dead in bed at Ponsonby, from heart failure following cancer. A SOLDIER'S SUICIDE. Auckland, Yesterday. A soldier from Rangiotu Camp, William Whelan, aged ;13, was found hanging from a tree in the Auckland Domain .at 4.3(1 yesterday. His pulse was still hea-ting when be was cut down, but efforts to restore animation failed. Whelan .was habitually abnormal in •manner. Yesterday he stated he would give himself up to the police, fearing that he would be courtmartialled fov conduct disrespectful to officers. There was no ground for his fears. Palmerston N., Yesterday. As the result of a severe burning'accident ten days ago a young.unmarried woman named Hilda Grint has died in the hospital. She was engaged in cooking on a gas-ring when her skirt ignited. Though it was quickly extinguished she suffered from severe burns, which resulted fatally.
