Many recruiting incidents are happening just now, and one that occurred at Frankton is worthy of mention. Tlfo ovpress train had drawn alongside the platform, when a man in khaki thrust his head in the doorway of the refreshment ear, and, addressing the busy waiters, said: "ttiy mates! you'd better come along with us and get shot!" His kind invitation meeting with no response, the enthusiastic recruiter continued: "You're doing some good, no doubt, because you serve sausages to make money for the State; but a pack of girls could do that. You'd better put skirts on and make yourselves look like your job!" The men addressed smiled good-naturedlv at tilt outburst •I &i lM«.
