II: was elicited in evidence at tlifl Westminster Police Court that a superb miniature of Admiral Nelson, with plaiting of Lady Hamilton's hair, was pawned for one pound, and has not been redeemed since September, '11)12.- The police are endeavoring to trace ita history. It is believed to lie the work of Richard Cosway, and is worth at least one thousand pounds. [Richard Cosway (1740-18211 was a. famous British painter of miniatures. Ho was born in Devonshire, and was successively A.R.A. (1770) and R.A. (1'771). His wife, Maria Hitdfield, was also a well-known painter.]
