The Stratford Racing Club is doing nothing by halves. Having engaged the Wangamii Garrison Band to play at its race meeting, the club lias also' arranged for a Patriotic Sacred Concert to be given by the band at the Ngaere Gardens on the Sunday between the race days, the date being Jan. 2, The Wanganui Garrison Band has an Australian reputation and is second to none in the Dominion. The band will give its services free, and likewise Mr. Trnelove of the Ngaere Gardens is giving the use of his beautiful grounds free of charge. An entrance fee of one shilling will be made for admission to the gardens and the proceeds handed over to the Patriotic Funds. As it is anticipated that a large number of vehicles and motors will assemble at Ngaere on the date mentioned, special provision has bfen made for their accommodation. Visitors will be able to purchase light refreshments inelnd- j ing afternoon tea. The people of Taranaki may with confidence look forward to a delightful musical treat and the beauty of Ngaere Gardens will appeal to everyone. The object to which the gate takings will be devoted must meet with approval by every true British heart in Taranaki.
