EDUCATION BOARD.
THE WEST WARD VACANCY. Nominations closed on Saturday afternoon for the vacancy in the West 'Ward representation on the T.-tA-anaki Education Board, vuun-d by the resignation of Jlr. A. M. Bradbury. Two nominations were received, necessitating an election, voting for which will clo-io on Saturday, January 8. ' The candidates nominated were:— William Young, of Oaonui, nominated by members of the Oaonui, Pihama and Warea Committees; and Sydney George Smith, of New Plymouth, nominated by the Central and West End Commit* tees. Mrs. Jane R. Dougherty waa nominated by the Tataraimaka Committee, but withdrew in favor of Mr* Young.
