"WOMEN AND WINE" WITHDRAWN "THE JOCKEY OF DEATH"—TOMORROW NIGHT. There having been a considerable amount of discussion on the film "Woman and Wine," advertised to be shown "at the Theatre Royal to-night the management considered it inadvisable to screen this picture. The film has been returned to Wellington, and the owners are making representations in the right quarters, either to have the film condemned as not fit to exhibit anywhere in New Zealand, or else passed as a subject that can bo screened at any picture house. The picture has already been shown in all {lie cities and principal towns of the Dominion, and was - screened at a Wanganui Theatre last Thursday and Friday to crowded houses. On Saturday, the manager was warned by the police not to exhibit the picture again. Owing to the difficulty of securing a star attraction of modern times, a thrilling, sensational masterpiece entitled "The Jockey of Death." EMPIRE PICTURES. To-night the new programme features two star dramas, "The Ruse" and "The Hcadliners." "The Ruse," by the Broncho Co., is a stirring story' which reveals the methods by which a thieving set of company promoters endeavored to rob an owner of his mine, and how they were frustrated by a clever trick played by a brave man. "The Headliners,"'by the Reliance Co., is a swift and compelling story, and has the great charm of novelty, with an exciting climax. A good Keystone comedy and the latest war news are among the supporting films.
