MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land .Board was held yesterday. Present: Mr. G. H. Bullard (Commissioner), in the chair, Messrs W. W. Jones, A. Coxliead, J. Heslop and C. J. Ryan. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. The following applications were approved:— Section 22, block C, Pouatu S.D., 2 acres 3 roods 37.5 perches (cash), G. E. Anderson. s Section 1, 'block 5, Huiroa S.D., 2 roods, M.L., A. G. Rutherford. Section 29, block 1, Mahoe S.D., 1 acre 2 roods 20 perches (cash), D. H. Proffit, junr. The fee simple of section 10, block 3, Ohura S.D., 294 acres 2 roods 22 perches, Frank Pleasants, was approved. TRANSFERS AND SUR-LEASES. The following applications were dealt with: — Section 6, block 8, Mapara S.D., 323 acrfe, P. Leahy to John Page.—Approved. Section 5, block 7, Omona S.D., 650 acres, H. Lewis To J. iB. Norris. —Refused, Mr. Coxhead dissenting. Section ,3, block 1, Mapara S.D., 340 acres, E. M. Sheehan to N. G. and R. H. Bruce.—Refused, previous resolution adhered to. Section 4, block 16, Ohura S.D., 332 acres 2 roods. 0. J. Powick to C. J. Powick, J. P. Uden and C .T. GerkeApproved. Section 3, block 2. Opakn S.D.; 1477 acres, J. Granville to F. Gawith.—Approved, Mr. Heslop dissenting, on account of what he considered excessive consideration.

. Section 1141, Xew Plymouth, 1 rood, C. Carter to A. G. Mason. —Approved provisionally. MISCELLANTSOUS. E. S. L. Mowat. lessee to R.L. section 6, block 10. Ponatu S.D., was granted twelve months' leave, of absence, the question of rental remission to stand over. Mrs, K. L, Baird's application to forfeit section 11, block 7, Omoana, was agreed to. The proposals of the Okato Road Board for the expenditure of £4- 0s 2d, accrued thirds, were agreed to. The chairman and Mr. C. J. Ryan were empowered to examine all applications received for lsftids to lie opened on January i\. lflO, and determine those applicants who were entitled to preference in the ballot on January 24. The Oh urn County Council's proposals for expenditure of' £1857 17s, accrued thirds and fourths, were approved. The application of Messrs Dillon, Ltd., Okahukura, for a timber-cutting license under the forest regulations over part of sections 5 and fl, block 1, Rang! S.D., 200 aires (with reserved areas) was recommended for the Minister's approval, subject to the following:—Term, 2 years t from January 1, 1016; royalty payable quarterly. The Commissioner of Crown Lands was I authorised to recover the amounts owing bv education reßerve lessees.

'The following applicants were admitted to the ballot for section 1, Mock 2, Totoro S.D.:—J. J. Mitchell and J. O'Donnell, preference; V. J. Pitts, nonpreference. The following were rejected: W. J. Asplin,, A. K. Jenkins. J. O'Connell's application for section 1, bloek 2, Totoro S.D., was approved.
