PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held at Rahotu on Thursday. Present: Messrs Young (chair), Harvey, and Willnughby. The foreman was authorised to do repair work 011 the Lower Kina road when the staffs were available.' Owing to damage done bv carting boulder stone over the Ngariki'Road, the Board decided to request the Council to put the road in order again. The Board agreed to have work done on Tipoka Road as requested by Mr. Rutherford. ,

The foreman was instructed to notify land owners on the Waiteika Road to clear gorse oft' their frontages. Mr. Coombridge wrote drawing attention to the very bad state of the Waiteika Road and trie urgent need for immediate repair. He said it was quite two year 9 since anything had been done to it." He pointed out that in addition to the backbreaking County rate and the Board rate tbev had two special rates, and if tile road was neglected mu,h longer the settlers would not be able to get their mill; out and liave a poor chank-e of making enough to pay their rates.— I The Board decided to inform Mr. Coombridge that £ll9 ]3s Gd had been spent in repairing the road during the last two years. The foreman was authorised to do'any necessary repairs.

The Board's solicitor (Mr. (low) wrote giving legal instruction as to straying stock.

Foreman J. P. Kennedy reported:—To Poka Road: Repairs to this road have been done during the month from Main Road up as far as .Mr. Hopkin's. and Mr. Rutherford asks that repairs be done to metalled portion. Parihaka Road: The dangerous part on this road at river bend has been fenced, using twelve posts, wire being put on; the whole of the roail is now being repaired, principally with broken metal. Harvey Road: This road has been attended to. and all ruts repaired. Bayly and Skeet Roads have both been repaired during the month. YVarea Road: 011 account of bad weather the road broke lip in places, all weak places have been repaired. Ihaia Road: I found it necessary to repair the wholn road, the top portion being in a very bad state. The road is now in fair order. Newall Road, unmetalled portion: The grant of £0 has been spent in repairs where asked For by Mr. Julian. Witiora Road: Repairing will be done to this road in a few days. Supply of shingle: Twenty yards for making pipes has been carted by Ceo. lioro. The Egmont Couny Council lias completed return to Board's yard, Opunake. Pipes sold during the montb: Geo. IToro, ten 9-in.
