A SETTLER'S DEATH.
BODY OF m WELLS FOUND. The body of ill'. X. Wells, of Mangorei, who wandered away from Ms home on Monday last, was found on the bank of the Henui River, about a mile from deceased's residence, on Saturday. On Monday afternoon Mr. Wells was working in hia garden, and towards evening he was iniaaed from there. Throughout the week an active search was conducted by the police and settlers, but no trace of Mr. Wells was discovered until his body was found on Saturday. The late Mr. Weils, who was 85 years of age, had been declining in health of late. He was one of- the oldest settlers in the district, and was highly respected by a. large circle of friends. The fUnocal took place yesterday afternoon, and tjic large number of followers included a party of Veterans. An inquest will,be held on Wednesday^
