AMUSEMENTS.

"THE RADIUM THIEVES." The leading feature of the new bill which commences at The Empire Theatre to-day wil be a sensational detective story, "The Radium- Thieves" (3000 feet), by the famous Vitagraph Players, and produced with great attention to detail. The story is capably handled, every scene leading up to an unexpected climax. Keystone's well-known company is represented by a real laugh, "Miss Fatty's Seaside Lovers," which features Roscop Arbuckle. The "Pathe Gazette" gives the latest news from the front. "TuniS and Surroundings" (scenic). "Checkmate" (drama), and "The Clubman" (comedy) are included on the new bill.

ROYAL PICTURES. The programme to be shown in the Theatre Royal to-day and to-night is headed by Edison's 3000 ft. star drama, "Tho Deadly Hate," a story of twin brothers, full of stirring situations and a well sustained interest. Marc MacDermoth takes the leading part and is said to be even better than usual. The Flying A company contribute a splendid drama, "The Golden Rainbow," "Her Choice" and "The Fatal Note" supply the comedy element. The Australian Gazette shows the spring meeting at Sydney and heaps of other items. A magnificent scenic is also included. Seats may bo reserved. COMMENCING MONDAY. For three nights only, commencing on Monday next, the Royal Pictures management will screen Warner's 2000 ft. star production, "The Arrow's Tongue," a tragedy of the old west. An old farmer while ploughing a field finds human bones and an Indian arow. Memories of half a century back awaken and the hands of time reversed. From out of the past came hundreds of scalp hunting Indians and .never-ending processions of settlers. And in his reverie was re-en-acting the legend of the Arrow's Tongue. The story of the gruesome relics is graphically told in this great photoplay. Among the number of well selected supporting subjects is "Doctor Bridget John Bunnv," a Vitagraph comedy featuring tho late Vitagraph' comedian, John Bunny.
