PERSIA.
RUSSIAN SUCCESS. ROAD TO HAMADAN OPEN. Received Dee. 11, 1.10 a.m. Petrograd, Dec. 10. A communique states that the Russians occupied Sultanbutak pass, between Teheran and Hamadau, after routing a force of gendarmes. The Persian mercenaries are led by German and Turkish officers. The road to Hainadan is now open. (Hasadan, with a population of 40,000, is a large manufacturing and distributing centre, 186 miles south-west of Teheran.)
