In the grocers' dispute it was announced that there had been a complete agreement at the Conciliation Council. The court made the agreement into an award, and decided that it should come into operation on Decenvber 20. Clamiaway and Co., master stevedores, ■appealed against the decision given by the Inspector of Awards under clause 20 of the waterside workers' industrial agreement. Counsel for appellant stated that the agreement provided that the rate for stevedorage and general cargo work should be Is 5d per hour. The men refused to work ease oil on the steamer Physa for less than 2s an hour. The employers might have taken other courses, but preferred to have the dispute settled amicably. They referred the question to the union, but the union refused to have anything to do with it. Subsequently the depute was referred to the Inspector of Awards, who gave a decision which it was contended was wrong. The case w»« set down for Friday,
