TAXING THE BETTORS.
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHI'MK. By Cable—Press Association— Copyright Sydney, Dee. 7. The Government's new taxation proposals, which it is introducing'this week, include taws on betting tickets and bookmakers. The latter will be called on to pay on the Randwick course and paddock £M), on the St. I.cger course .C2O, at flat races .C">, uiul on suburban, country, and pony courses and paddock* In addition to this the Government proposes to take 2:> per cent, of the fees paid by bookmakers to racing clubs and eaeli betting ticket is to hear a •penny Government stamp. It is expected that this new taxation will realise half a. million per a 5511 m.
