Fagon, who has been in camp with the reinforcements, and who is now cm leave owing to an injury to his knee, was a visitor to New Plymouth yesterday. Colonel Patterson, of Auckland, is to proceed to Samoa to relieve Colonel Logan, the present Administrator. The appointment is at present only a temporary one, Mr. E. J. W. Hallett, of Hasting!, who resided in New (Plymouth some years ago, is visiting here in connection with the sitting of the Supreme Court. The Attorney-General (the Hon. A. L. Herdman), who has been on a visit to • New Plymouth, returns to Wellington this morning. Yesterday, he visited the Ironsand works, the goal, and went for a drive around the country. Mr, Herdman was accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. E. G. N. Poulton. Word has been received that Biv»tt G. H. Parkinson, who was serving at tf» Dardanelles, is in hospital at Cairo.
