THE EMPIRE. At. the Empire Theatre to-night will be screened ii sensational'soooft "fen turn" by the London Film Co., entitled "Sons of Satan," which was written by that clever and popular author iVilliam Le Queux, who has presented an original and daring story of London society life, and its many undercurrent:!. The "Sons of Satan'' is the name of a gang of rogues and blackmailer*, whose head Is Harry Norma nd. but who is also known as Paul de Villei'eau, a famous detective. As detective, he ascertains many secrets, upon which as "A Son of Satan" he levies black mail. His infatuation for a beautiful actress, his vengeance on her and her lover, his diaboliieal ingenuity and insidious schemes, and his final overthrow make a sensational and powerful story. This great picture is claimed to be the best yet sent out by the London Film Company, and with such names as Charles Rock, Gerald Ames, and Jane Gail in the cast, the quality of the acting is assured. Among other pictures to be shown for the first time to-night is what is claimed to he an exceedingly funny offering by the Komic Company, entitled "Beppo the 'Barber." A picture that should prove interesting is tbat showing ''Yellowstone Park," the Rotorua of America. "John Bull's Sketch Book," with the clever patriotic cartoons, and the latest gazette complete the programme. THURSDAY. With Thursday's new programme of pictures for the Empire. Theatre comes a thrilling topical film—the "Chicago Excursion Disaster," with three thousand employees of the Western Electric Company aboard, bound for their annual picnic, the excursion steamer Eastland capsizes. More than one thousand perished. Maurice Costello i s featured in Vitagraph's stage romance "The Understudy." The Keystone comedians kick up a fuss over a fiicklc girl and incidentally cause endless fun. "Her Husband's Honor," the star drama by the Kalem Company, is a pleasing production, it tells how a woman helped her father to smuggle diamonds from 'Paris to \e\v York. Tier husband is a secret service agent and is unable to locate the smuggler owing to bis wife's duplicity. The Kalem artists make the most of tlie dramatic situations. "Just Retribution" (Lubin drama). "Some Romance" (comedy), and the Australian Gazette are the other films on the program.
