RACING FIXTURES. Sec. 8, iWtVoodville J.C. Summer. Dec. '27 , 28^—Taranaki J.C. Christmas. Dec. 27, 2S, 29—Manawatu R.C. Summer. Dec. d 7, 30. Jany 1, a—Aug],"land R.C, Summer. TURF TOPICS. ('By "Motnroa,") Wooilville races on Wednesday and Thursday! Auckland Cup and Railway acceptances slwitd appear this morning. All the first day's "morals" scored on the second day at Feilding. Maniaroa was the only double •winner at 'Feilding, but Crawford, Lady Amai and Flingot all gave it a "shake." Heard at Trentlianj: "'Ere! Don't hang round that lioise's neck. You'll give 'im a headache!"

When Bimeter looked like smothering the two-year-olds in the Feilding Stakes he got '"pocketed," and the win was postponed until the next day. There wore some stunning dividends on Wednesday, Crawford, Kauwairoa, Heather and Maniaroa each making the limit look very small. If Bjorneborg liad left tlie mark In the Trial (Plate at Feilding, Interlude would only have been second. The Finland—War Scare colt made Bimeter .hasten his hoofsteps on the second day. Postillion was looking as big as a prize bullock at Feilding, but ran well as long as his condition lasted. He should be a much improved horse about Christmas time.

One crack Tavannld horseman was deeply, insulted recently. His horse—an ex-cab neddy T>y the way—dropped, dead under him, and the jo'ekster was spilled all over the road. Just as he was wondering what had struck him an officer rode up and inquired from the non-com., "Did that man fall off his horse t"

There were some marvellous things happening at Aslihurst and at Feilding. Asliliurst form was all wrong on the first day at Feilding, and the second day saw a fresh batch in the ascendant. The stipes wore a worried look and took voluminous notes. Somebody will catch it hot shortly 1 Crawford is no oil painting, but he is a rare sticker. On Wednesday ho begqn well from an outside position and led all the way, just hanging 011 long enough to beat Lady Amai by a head. With 71bs more in the saddle 011 Thursday lie tried to repeat the dose, but Deeley (on Lady .Amai) was taking no chances this time, and cut the black gelding down at the distance. Crawford paid two wonderful dividends and appears to have a friendly feeling for the Feilding course. Taranaki horses had a royal innings this Week. Maniaroa was "top dog" with a double win in the two principal handicaps, £420 in stakes enriching "Mr. C. Sharwood." Crawford and Lady Amai each scored a first and a second, and Tirana also had his number hoisted. Others to gain place money were Coropet. Play Off, Avon Park, and Ratana. It was a good meeting for Taranaki. The Feitding Stakes saw Bimeter first "hoice. With Tino Atu, Nysfad, and IJsjpt next in demand. A fair start ;<Tected, though Chakwana lost a f»iv lengths. Tino Atu, witli "14%rbs overweight, led to the turn ,md then gave way to Nvstad. The latter was in front. until the stand was reached, where Egypt camp with a slashing run and snapped the prize. There was little to choose betwen Egypt, Nystad ; Tino Ate. audiometer in a stinging Jbmh.

Astor had the bad luck to collide with another horse on the tracks on Wednesday morning, and could not he started at the meeting. Nothing but Bimeter would go down with backers in the Oroua Stakes. Nine horses faced the barrier, but at the end of a furlong th«ie was, only one in it, and that was t:;<* favcrite. Bjorneborg settled GOUI fioult and Mia Cara in the run home., but had 110 chance of catching Bimeter, who v.on with a lot in hand.

In both his races at Feildiug Maniaroa was allowed to run along behind until well in the straight. Then, when Charlie Price called upon him, lie finished most resolutely, and quickly placed the issue beyond the bounds of argument. Tangihou, Montana, Kooya and Sir Solo performed very badly. There was a.gents' beauty competition on Thursday (•veiling at Paddy's Market in connection with the Wanganui Patriotic Carnival, and the well-known sportsman. "Mr., Wire Tokens" landed the prize in ft canter. ''Wire," with his "mo" shaved off. looked really handsome. Also, he looked through a horse-collar at the quartette of fair judges, and his sweet, sad face fairly took them by storm.

A pail' of promising hack hurdlers scored winning brackets this week. TCauwairou. a fine stamp of a gelding Ib.V Sensation—Gipsy King mare) easily ran off with the Waituna Hurdles, and White Plume (Renown —The Hempie) made up for her bad luck at Waverlcy and at Aslihurst bv just as easily appropriating the Rongotea Hurdles. Both horses will be heard of again.

Flingot ran honestly each day, a iirst and a second rewarding his owner, Mr. H, M. Campbell.

Interlude was first out and led all the way in the Trial Piute. "Tommy" Long got bis Waverley money bail; with interest.

Coropet went near paying a great price in the Flying Stakes. G. Clarke iiad him in front at the distance, but Heather finished best, and won by a neck. Heather returned a big price considering her brace of wins at Marlborough so recently.

Mossman ran another second this week. This par should be kept "set up" by every good, religious paper.
