Several 'by-law oases were dealt with by Mr. A. Crooke, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Jolin Coleman was fined £1 and costs 28s for driving metal in excess of the quantity allowed over Taranaki county roads; R. W. Fisher was fined 5s and 7s costs for leaving his motor-car in the street at night without proper lights; Frederick R. Marriott was fined 5s and costs 7s for a similar offence; George Clark was fined 7s fld and costs 7s for riding a bicycle on the footpath; Frederick M. Doughty was fined 10s and costs 7a for driving a lorry at night without proper lights: James Travers was fined 5s and costs £1 8s for riding a bicycle at night without lights on the county roads; and George Edward Peace (Mr. A. H. Johnstone) was fined 5s and costs 7s for driving a motor car at night without a tail light.. A charge against Horace Morgan (Mr. Johnstone) of failing to comply with the by-laws concerning the carriage of meat was dismissed.
