HIS VISIT TO AXZAC. THE HEX CHEER lIIM. By Cable. —Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Bee. 1. Captain Bean, cabling from OabaTepe, says that Lord Kitchener had a great welcome at Anzac. Only a few of the senior officers knew he was coining;, but the men recognised him as he stepped ashore, and tumbled out of their dugouts, spontaneously cheering again and again. Lord Kitchener went through the first line trenches, which in places were only twenty yards from the Turks. There were anxious moments as lie rounded certain corners which were visible to Turkish snipers. He left after two hours thorough look at the position.
IX THE TREXCHES. THE KING'S MESSAGE. London, Xov. 30. Messages from the Dardanelles headquarters state that Lord Kitchener visited Mudros, Ilelles, and Anzac. and held a conference with General -Monro. Lord Kitchener was delighted with hi.welcome at Anzac, and, in response v. the men's greeting, delivered the King's message. Accompanied by General Birdwood he strode up the steepest paths along the firing-line at the Anzac position, frequently speaking to the men in the trenches. With the Australian and Xew Zealand Divisional Commanders, Brigadiers, arid all important officers he thoroughly studied the situation. His visit will be an inspiration to the Australians and New Zealanders. He told ithe Anzac men at the Dardanelles how much the King appreciated their splendid services. They had done even better than the King expected. A VISIT TO PARIS. Paris, Nov. 30. Lord Kitchener had an enthusiastic reception. He had a long conference with M.
