The cheeking of the polling in th® Auckland Queen Carnival election shows the position and majority of the Queen of the South were unaffected, but tho East was increased, while other alterations resulted in Licensed Victuallers beating the Allied Retailer?, and the Sports taking the ninth position, at first credited to the 'Public Service. The country districts have now attain* ed a contribution per head of population of £1 8s \\(l and the city and suburbs of £1 Cs fi'/jd. The scheme to raiso a quarter of a million was based roughly on £1 per head of the population. The total value of the 21,103,765 votel cast is 1-04,.117 Is 3d, and it is estimated that the Auckland fund now approximates £342,939.
