While attempting to cross Willis Street to-night, a seafaring man named Donald McNeill was taught between two tramcars, and crushed so badly that when extricated from under one of the cars he was dead. . Apparently he tried to avoid one approaching car, and did not notice another coining from the opposite direction. PINNED UNDER A MOTOR-CAR.. Christchurch, Last Night. Edward Shirley, a farmer of Lauriston, and his wife and six-year-old child Were motoring home from a concert at Lauriston in the early hours of this morning, when the car ran over some loose shingle, skidded, and capsized. The child was flung clear, but the husband and wife were pinned under the vehicle, and Mrs. Shirley was killed. Mr. Shirley was badly bruised and cut.
