i THE EMPIRE THEATRE. '"Her Shattered Tdol," at the. Empire Theatre, to-night, is a picture that will be sure to command big business (luring its'screening in Xew Plymouth. It is a dramatic play with a strong- vein of originality, and fairly alive with screamingly funny situations as well as many thrilling episodes. When the "big still'.'" to quote the iilm, does the "run-away" with the "near-bride, v the exeitement'is intense, and holds the attention of the audience till the last. The acting is of high merit, Miss Mae Marsh outshining all her previous ell'orts, and she is ablv supported by Eobert Harron as the 'Hoy," and Elmo Lincoln as the muscular blacksmith-idol. The other pictures to be shown are also well up to the standard. "His Jungle Sweetheart," a Selig animal drama, is a thrilling drama with some fine leopards playing a prominent part, and "The Cartoons in a f/uindry" are clever and original, as well as amusing. The Gaumont llraphic is of more than ordinary interest. A couple of interesting scenic studies are also included in a splendid programme. Seats I may he reserved at tile Umpire. Thursday's attractions include Ford Sterling. Keystone's iirst star comedian, in his favorite role as chief of police in a -2000 ft star comedy, "Our Dare-devil Chief"; and a Lubin star drama, "The I Life Line," featuring Arthur V. Johnson, the popular photo-player.
