WILSON'S WARNING. THREAT TO OSTRACISE "HYPHENATED" AMERICANS. According to .T. W. T. Mason, the New York correspondent of the London Daily Express, President Wilson, on October 11, for the first time attacked GermanAmericans, in a speech before the Daughters of the American Revolution. Without referring directly to GermanAmericans Dr. Wilson indicated them by declaring himself in favor of ostracising through public opinion those who sought to use America to aid the aims of other Powers. "Is it America first or is it not?" asked the President. "I am in a hurry for an opportunity to have this line set up. Let those for America first and all the time be placed on one side, and those for anyone else be placed on the other side. ,; I predict that it will be necessary in the very near future to challenge the loyalty and patriotism of candidates for political office."
