DISGRACING THE UNIFORM. SOLDIERS' MISDEEDS IN SYDNEY. Received Nov. 28, S p.m. Sydney, Nov. 28. Two disturbances connected with the military occurred on successive nights. The District Commandant reports trouble at Liverpool Camp on Friday night owing to soldiers' attempts to pass sentries without a pass. Stones wore thrown, and several of the police tents were fired. An inquiry is proceeding. On Saturday night a band of soldiers followed a crowd of civilians wlio paraded the. main streets, smashed the windows of the Concordia Club (a German club), and of the Frankfurt Sausage Company. The police used tlieir batons freely, and dispersed the mob. Twenty arrests were made. GENERAL ITEMS. Sydney, Nov. 27. The 11 Oth list includes:—Wounded: Privates T. W. Hodgson (disembarked at Malta), B. Osborne (out of danger); T. A. James (in hospital at Bristol), Driver G. B. Anderson (resumed duty). Ill: Privates W. J. IT. Waters and E. Rollins, Ljuice-Corporal I. W. Sampson (in hospital at Alexandria, Cossam, and ■Bristol respectively). Adelaide, Nov. 27. The Government's firm attitude has been effective and the strikers have resumed on the old terms. Melbourne, Nov. 27. As a result of the Toluene Committee's report a factory to manufacture tri-iiitro-tolueue and high explosives will be ■erected as quickly as possible. The committee's investigations indicate that there are splendid opportunities for the tar distilling industry. ' Perth, Nov. 27.
