CAPTURE OF GORIZIA. ITALIAN COMMANDER'S REPORT. Received Nov. 27, 8.30 p.m. Rome, Xov. 27. Genera] Cadorna reports: Repented Austrian counter-attacks on the heights north-west of Gorizia did not prevent ns consolidating the captured positions. The fighting on Carso plateau yesterday increased in severity along the ridge descending from the northern slopes of Monte San Mieliele towards Isonzo, The enemy, bv a sudden assault, captured a ridge, but our men retook it and finally consolidated their position. GORIZIA. P.l-IXQ SHOT TO PIECES. AUSTRIAN REPORT. Received Nov. 28, 8 p.m. Vienna, Nov. 27. A communique says: Italian heavy shells and incendiary bombs are falling on the town of Gorizia, which is being systematically shot to pieces. The damage to buildings is estimated at twentysix million crowns.
