THE WHEAT CROP. By Cable,—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Nov. 26., An estimate states that the drought conditions have reduced the wheat yield by four million bushels. STRIKE OF STOREMEN. Sydney, Nov. 26. Seven hundred members of the Federated Storemen and Packers' Union have struck. Large consignments of produce and goods have been left on the wharves and stations. All the bulk stores are closed. The strike is seriously affecting other union?. BUTTER FAMINE. Sydney, Nov. 20. In consequence of the drought and bush fires, the dairying districts of New South Wales are faced with another butter famine. Many agents are unable to supply retailers with their requirements and, unless the drought breaks, the position will be serious CUSTOM STOPPED. Sydney, Nov. 20. The military authorities have prohibited the use of paper streamers to departing steamers, allegedly because some have been utilised for conveying messages.
