At the wool sales 9000 bales were offered and bidding was very keen, especially by Americans. In the forenoon sales crossbreds sold firmly at bids ranging from 13d, l4d, 15d to IGd. One lot of fine crossbred brought 18y 2 d. Fine half-breds sold at a par with southern rates, the extreme being 18% d. Fine scoured merino brought 20 1 / id. A bale sold for the Patriotic Fund realised £HH«. NEW PLYMOUTH WOOL, HIDE, SKIN, AND TALLOW SALES. Messrs L. A. Nolan and Co. report:— On Tuesday last, Nov. 23, we held our first sale of the season's wool in conjunction with our hide, sheepskin, and tallow sale. Wool was not so fully represented as usual on account of delayed shearing owing to recent wet weather. Of the 45 bales of wool catalogued 44 were sold as follows:—One bale at 14Jd, 29 at Is 2d, 8 at 13Jd, 2 at 13d, 1 at 12id, 1 at Is, one bale crutchings at Bd. Sheepskins, owing to American inquiry, advanced sharply from Id to 1-Jd per lb. Hides sold at about last month's rates. Calfskins were slightly easier. Tallow sold at an advance of 15s per ton.
