TARANAKI CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting wag held in Hawera on Wednesday night, when Mr.McCarthy, president, was in the chair. The annual report congratulated clubs and their members on the good feeling and sportsmanship that was a feature of last year's competition. It continued''The shield fell to Okaiawa after a spirited contest. This club deserves a meed of praise for then- meritorious win. Hawera B were runners-up. During the season two matches were plaved between North and South, each winning one. The match against Wanganui in the Hawke Cup contest resulted in a win for Wanganui." Finally, the report urged all to make a special effort in order to keep the game in a live state. The statement of receipts and expenses i showed that the Association has a credit balance of over £B. Officers were elected as follow?: President, Mr. B. McCarthy: viee-pro-i----dents, the president of each club: hon. secretary, Mr. P. M. Pratt; selection eomniitt.ee, Messrs Pratt, Penny, and McCarthy. U was dccide,Lto have no shield fixtures this season, hut that friendly games be arranged,—Star.
