UNITED STATES.

A GIGANTIC CONSPIRACY. SUPPLIES FOR GERMAN WARSHIPS. New York, Nov. 25. According to witnesses in the case against the Hainburg-Amerika line on the charge of conspiracy to deceive and defraud the United States by sending neutral relief to ships, coal and other supplies were sent for German warships in the Atlantic and Pacific. One witness swore that Captain Boyd, German naval attache, personally directed the expenditure of 750,000 dollars, which unsolicited and unexpected appeared to a witness' credit at a New York banking house. All disbursements from this sum were made to the order of Boyd. Further evidence against the ilam-burg-Amerika directors allowed that the whole fleet of steamers were engaged in helping German warships. At many ports of the United States, both oil the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, coal and food were supplied on a lavish scale. Washington, Nov. 24. Mr. Lansing holds that Captain Boyd is not amenable to American law Decause he used German money to subsidise the American or German steamers which aided German warships to raid the commerce of the Allies on'the high seas. .Mr. Lansing points out that no. proofs are forthcoming that Captain Boyd conspired with anybody; his connection with the ease is merely incidental.' GERMAN INTRIGUE. .'" STIRRING UP RIOTS. Washington, Nov. 24. Special guards and detectives have been engaged in Washington in consequence of rumors of threatened outrages, including the destruction of the Capitol. The recent explosion made the authorities nervous. There have been further riots in Cleveland, Ohio, and many persons have been injured. The riots originated because a factory was used for the production of motor cars for the Allies.
