ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MOTHER AND CHILD DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Alice Franklin, wife of John Franklin, of Whnkatane, and a two-year-old child have been drowned at Whakatane Heads. The woman's body has been found at the base of the cliff. It is supposed the child got into the water and the mother perished in attempting to rescue it.
