WAR PENSIONS.
THE NATIONAL REGISTER. By Telegraph.—.Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Up to the ltith inst. 424 applications for war pensions had been received, 100 from soldiers and 318 from dependents. Of the former 22 applicants had been granted pensions and 23 were declined, 41 applicants had been granted allowances, and of the balance of applications 12 had been adjourned and S were still on hand. Of the 318 dependent applicants, 200 had been "ranted pensions, one an ullowauce, and 33 had been declined. Of the remainder nine had been adjourned and 75 were still on hand. The annual value of the 222 pensions granted amounts to £10,743, an average pension of .£4B. The temporary allowances which were granted in the 42 eases mentioned were for a total amount of £1,003. So far, 285,000 National Registration forms have been filled in and returned to the authorities. This number is considered very satisfactory, though it is expected it will yet be augmented,
