The Times correspondent at Russian headquarters reports that there has been ten days' fierce fighting at the Svetpe Lakes district, the roost important since the struggle at 'Warsaw. The Russians are assuming the offensive and compelling the Germans to recede. It h believed that the German failure here is permanent. The Russian troops arc magnificently brave and devoted, the artillery, and the staff has overcome enormous tactical difficulties in carrying out the offensive.
