The police discovered an important plant at Tottenham for counterfeiting Treasury Notes. Many had been passed. They arrested four men and seized a thousand forged notes. EMPIRE POETRY. London, Nov. 21. Sir Herbert Warren, lecturing at Oxford on Empire's poetry, said that three notes distinguished the poetry of the Dominions, the love of the new home the love of the old home, love and loyalty to the Empire. The real poetry of the Empire belonged to men like Essex, Evans and Sandes, while Pember Reeves excellently represented New' Zealand. TO EXPLORE NEW GUINEA. Stockholm, Nov. 21. Dr. Ojoebjerg promises to explore the unknown parts of New Guinea with aeroplanes. He is utilising a powerful arman, carrying five persons and 10001b of stores. A smaller seaplane will search for landing places in the interior, between which and the headquarters on the coast regular services will be established. The aeroplanes are convertible into seaplanes to explore lakes. AUSTRALIAN WHEAT PURCHASE. Sydney, Nov. 22. Meetings held in many wheat growing districts were strongly condemnatory to the Government scheme, and a movement is afoot to refuse to deliver wheat unless they are guaranteed what is considered fairer value.
