SCENES IN PRISON CAMP. A TERRIBLE PICTI'RE. London, Xov. 21. T)ti> Press Bureau publishes a lepo't by Mr. Osborne, of the American Embassy, on tiic Wittenberg Camp, wfiere there arc four hundred English, including thirty-four civilians. Clothing is tlio chief source of trouble; there me no overcoats. A watchman took a fierce dog into the barracks, which attacked several prisoners, tearing their clothes. A soldier in the bath-house struck with ilia closed li.-,t several prisoners, including' one with a crippled right arm, who wcie dressing slowly. Mr. Osborne says his impression of the authorities at Wittenberg in utterly me like that he has formed at other camps visited. Instead of regarding their charges as honorable prisoners of war they appear io regard them as criminals for whom n regime of fear will alone suffice. All evidence of kindly and humane feeling between the authorities and prisoners is lacking.
"AMINE U VIENNA. WOMEX FIGHT TIIE POLICE. Amsterdam, Xov. 21. Reports from Vienna announce serious food riots in the markets on Monday and Tuesday, owing to the dearth of vegetables and butter. Women fought tile police, and five women and one policeman were wounded. After the mounted police charged, the women dispersed, singing verses demanding immediate peace to the tuue of the national anthem.
ZEPPELIN DESTROYED, A CARELESS WORKMAN. Copenhagen, Nov. 21. The Zeppelin destroyed nt Modern. Austria, was brand new and of the latest type. Tt occupied a new shed covering an acre. Received Nov. 22, 5.35 p.m. Amsterdam,' Nov. 21. Hcrr Max Harden, writing in the warns his countrymen that it is dangerous to hope that the Allies desire peace. Anglo-Russia must he considered as only commencing the war, and therefore there is worse lighting ahead for Germany. He urges Germany to state her intentions regarding peace terms.
