FRENCH TRANSPORT SUNK. III'XDHEDS OF LIYK> l.n-T London, Nov. 21. Ail officer of tlic steamer Lady I'lymoutli tells the story of the Flinch transport Calvados, which was sunk l>v » submarine in the Mediterranean. The Lady Plymouth picked up a 'boat containing forty-six French soldiery who tad been in the trenches for lil'tecn months and were going hack io the trenches. .A French offiecr stated that hj« saw three soldiers, after losing their hold on a raft, swim to the submarine, hoping to be taken on board. A Berlin correspondent declares that it is officially announced that since the sinking' of an English transport at ■Salonika by a submarine, others have been disguised as hospital ships, flying the Red Cross. It is pointed out that seventy have passed Gibraltar towards Greece. It is obvious from the number that they are really carrying troops and munitions. The Admiralty comments: ''This is absolutely false. Our hospital ships always have been and always will be used in accordance with the Geneva and Hague Conventions." FALSE RUMORS. 01- AN AUSTRALIAN TRANSPORT. Melbourne, Nov. 22. Rumors of the loss of an Australian transport were recently in circulation. Mr. Jensen issues an unqualified denial. He believes the rumors to be the work of enemy agents, and warns the public not to heed them. GERMAN SUBMARINES FOR TURKEY Geneva, Nov. 21. Bulgarian reports state that many German submarines are passing towards Turkey to the German workshops at Rodosto, where they will be refitted.
