BISHOP OF AUCKLAND.
. ISIT TO NEW PLYMOUTH, The Bishop of Auckland, Dr Averill, is expected to arrive in New Plymouth to-morrow night or Thursday night, and during his stay here will be the guest of the Yen. Archdeacon Evans. On Sunday the Bishop will open tha Govett and Holland memorial transept and lady chapel at St. Mary's Church, the consecration being carried out at tho ordinary morning service. In the afternoou a children's service will be held. The Bishop will preach at all services. Unusual interest will be lent to the occasion by the fact that next Sunday matks the seventy-second anniversary of the opening of* St. Mary's, which iV ope of the oldest churches in the Dominion. All old parishioners and friends of the lat» Archdeacon Henry Govett and the Rev. William Boiland are specially invited to attend on Sunday. Beyond Sunday's arrangements, there will be 110 other public functions connected with the Bishop's visit. Dr. Averill will leave on his return to Auckland ear'y next week.
