LIQUOR HOURS RESTRICTED. Received Nov. 21, 3.5 p.m. London, "Nov. 20. The sale of liquor in the London area will, from November 2!), be restricted to 5J hours daily. ON 'CHANGE. London, Nov. ID. The Daily Chronicle says that in order to cheek the effect on the American exchange of our purchases in America, the Government is taking steps to control American securities held in Britain. Mr. McKenna and the Governor of the Bank of England have conferred with leading insurance companies, and a committee has bjen appointed to arrange details. Tt is understood that the Government is prepared to purchase securities, or obtain a loan, tin: former holders to receive five per cent, on live years' Treasury bonds, while the lenders will receive their present interest, pltia onehalf per cent.
