TARANAKI BOUNDARIES FIXED. On Friday the Council of Education completed the definition of the new education district boundaries The nine districts into which the Doinnon has been dvided for education purposes under the Art. of last session are: Auckland, llawke's Bay, Taranaki, Wanganui, Wellington (with Marlborough), Kelson, Canterbury, Otago, und Southland. The Council spent a considerable amount of time weighing the rival claims of Nelson and South Canterbury after eight of the districts had been outlined. The final decision was in favor of Nelson. The Taranaki Education District as defined by the Education Council includes the counties of Awakino, Ohur.i, Clifton, Wliangamomona, Taranaki, Egmont, Stratford, Eltham, Waimnio West, and Hawera, The question as to whether Hawera should go to Taranaki or Wanganui was debated keenly by the Commission, but finally the decision went in favor of Taranaki.
