REJECTED AT TRENTHAM.
AFTER PASSING LOCAL TESTS. TWENTY FIVE MEN TURNED AWAY Every recruit entering Trenthara undergoes a strict medical examination. As a result of this an average of about 1 per cent, who passed the local medical test are rejected. A dozen of the Wellington draft for the Tenth Reinforcements failed to pass on Wednesday, ami had to leave camp. A similar fate befell a few Napier, Tauraarunui, and Auckland men. They get pay for the time involved in travelling to Trentham and back. Thursday's batch of lejei-t----ed totalled 25. They will receive certificates of medical unlitness The men are terribly disappointed. Some asked how thev are going to face the friends who farewelled them, making presentations. One said he would return every gift. Another, a South African veteran, declared that lie would again llave to face the old cry of ''shirker." However, he would let a' man who called him a shirker read the medical certificate, and then land hint one in the eye.
