BRITAIN'S TERMS. < OUTLINED UNOFFICIALLY. .^ London, Nov. 17. • Mr. Masiennan, formerly Chancellor M the Duchy of Lancaster, in an article in the Daily Chronicle under the title "The Only Possible Peace Terms," says: "Mr. Asquith's ideals, as interpreted unofficially, are that Belgium should be restored to complete independence, Germany paying an indemnity adequate for rebuilding ruined cities, the revival of destroyed industries, and for compensation to disabled men and the relative's of tlie dead. should receive Alsace and Lorraine, an indemnity, and a natural defensive boundary, rendering the repetition of Germany's attack for ever impossible. "Denmark wouM receive Schleswig, and German, Austrian, and Russian Poland should be united under the Czar or his< nominee, "Italy should get the Trentino and ike whole of Italia Irredenta. "The Turkish Empire should be torn to fragments, and Armenia, Syria, Palestine, Mesopotamia, and Thrace divided among those who develop the countries. The Turks should be penned in Central Anatolia, where they should be compelled to learn to work instead of to massacre. ■'Serbia' should be restored, with a heavy indemnity from Austria-Hungary, and receive Bosnia and Herzegovina] with adequate access to the Adriatic, and all Serbian Austria/ "The German fleet should be surrendered and divided among the allied nations, and' the Zeppelins and hangars burnt.
