A BIG FIRE.
WOOL STORE DESTROYED. MOTOR SPIRIT STORE ABLAZE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Christclmrch, Nov. 18. A big lire early this morning at Lyttolton destroyed the New Zealand Shipping Company's wool store containing valuable machinery, and fiOO bales of wool. The (lames spread to the Harbor Hoard's motor spirit store, whore 4000 eases were stored. It wa-s soon a seething mass of llanics. The damage is estimated at thousands of pounds. The Lyttelton lire insurances are:' — New Zealand Shipping Company .0000 on the stove, £I9OO on the machinery, divided among various ollices. The company's estimated total loss is £-21,000. Tile Harbor Board lost benzine valued at £250, which is covered by its own insurance. Sir. Nat Woods lost motor spirits valued at £3OOO. It is doubtful whether it was insured.
