NEW PLYMOUTH CARGO ON BOAKD. A large amount of cargo for firiM iu New Plymouth was on board the steamer Indian Monarch, bound from New York to Auckland, which was abandoned on fire on November 0, south of St. Helciiu. The steamer carried a large cargo for Messrs Sargood, Son and Ewen and for othor soft goods firms, while there was also a consignment for Mr. C. C. Ward 011 board. General merchandise for Messrs J. 0. Spedtjing and Co. and for Messrs Burgess, B'raser and Co. was also included, while the steamer carried a number of motor cars for Mr. Newton King. The to'tal value of the cargo carried for New Plymouth could not be ascertained yesterday. The Indian Monarch, 4383 tons, Captain Dalzicl, left New York ou October 3rd for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. The vessel carried general cargo loaded under the auspices of the U.S. and A.S.S. Company, the Wellington agents being Dalgoty and Co. The vessel was built a't Port Glasgow iu 1904, and was owned by William Gillies, Ltd., of Glasgow.
