A French communique says: We repulsed German attacks in the Champagne, the enemy's organisation being overthrown by a spirited attack at Cieucy. '.Received Nov. 18. 10.50 p.m. 'Paris. Nov. Hi. A communique states: The bombardment on the West front is assuming a more sustained character at many points. There was a violent action on the left bank of the Cema. The Bulgarians continue vain attacks in closer connection with the Serbians at Prilep. There has been no important action at Gallipoli since November Ist. The Turkish artillery and infantry were intermittently active. British monitors continue a bombardment.
NOTES FROM THE TIMES. REPINGTONESE. Times and .Sydney Sun Services. Received Nov. 10, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 15. Colonel Rcpington pays that, the War Committee should Hicgin by reviewing the military and naval and home defence*, 'flic, success of our arms depends on the assured security of the British Isles, and it is necessary to close promptly and effectively a war on Germaft colonies, because it takes troops that are required for more important undertakings, and gives the enemy time to develop the doctrine of resistance. Her enervation makes the nation despicable. GERMANS EVACUATE MTTAV. The Times' correspondent at Petrograd says that the Germans are evacuating Mitmi, and are removing huge stores of ammunition. Russian longrange guns are firing on the PuckumMitau railway, preventing its use by the Germans for the purposes of the retreat, NO MEAT. The Berliner Tageblatt says that the pork market in Berlin was sold out ; n thirty minutes yesterday. There was only one-fourth of the average supplies. It is intended to issue butter, pork, bacon and meat tickets.
