Mr. Hughes has decided not to grant clearances to ships carrying wheat, acquired outside the Federal scheme. DESTRUCTION OP THE BLUE -MOUNTAINS. TELEGRAPHS INTERFERED WITH. Received Xov. The bush fires in tlie Blue Mountain* are unabated, and tlie miles of blazing ridges present a magnificent spectacle. •Jamb-son Valley and other beauty spols bavi- been swept away, besides scores of week-end bouses, and a number of larger plaee-s, including Mr. John'L. Hordern's mansion, have- been destroyed. Destructive lires in numerous ,otllw district* are interfering with telegraphs communications.
