NOTES. ■ Tlie Corinna on her southern trip this week will load at Blull', and then ai (he usual South Island ports for her northern run. After being engaged in the MelbourneNewcastle service for some time past, the Huddart-Parker steamer Westraliais to return to New Zealand once again, in 'ordftr to enter the coastal trade. The vessel is to leave Melbourne on November 2(1 for Dunedin direct, and sails from the southern port on December 3 for liyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. The German steamer Walkure, which was sunk by the Germans at Papeete just after the outbreak of wa;-, has been [Hirehased by a San Francisco syndicate. 'Salvage operations have already begun on account of the new owners, who hope to raise the vessel and have her taken to San Franc-isco for repairs. The old barque Antiope, which was 'brought to Wellington eariy in August from Newcastle by Captain F. Holm, 'has been resold to a Dunedin firm. The vessel was purchased a few mouths ago by the Paparoa Coal Company fiom Charles Nelson and Co., of San Francisco. The Antiope Is to be surveyed and overhauled at Wellington before leaving port. Ii was intended to dismantle the vessel, but now she will sail once more on fbe high seas, which aha has braved Tor forty-nine years. The' ?tiilpi- was biiiri at Port Glasgow in ISM.
